NORDELTA GOLF CLUB
One of the toughest course in Argentina. Avoid it if your swing is not in good mood.
Born to host the most important golf tournaments in the region, this challenging layout par 72 of 7278 yards offers the typical characteristics of a Nicklaus design. Waste hazards, big lagoons and multiple bunkers protecting the landing areas will require accurate shots and patience for achieving a decent score. Four sets of tees can guarantee playable conditions for golfers of every skill. Its modern green are very fast and hard to read. The club offers international first level amenities.
The #17 is the shorter par 4 in the course with only 349 yards, however it is fantastic. With water protecting the left side of the fairway, the approach is really challenging. It is a narrow, long firm green with 3 different platforms, requiring an accurate approach in order to avoid three putting.
PILAR GOLF CLUB
It's a very interesting modern design course. Very good ending holes 8/9 & 17/18.
This magnificent 27-hole golf course is located inside a private guarded comunity with a 5 stars Hilton Hotel. The 3 courses run around numerous lakes, wetlands, and ornamental grass outcroppings, presenting a true test for golfers of all categories. The Championship course is an American style design with many slopes and water getting into play in most of the holes. The club offers 5 stars international services, excellent maintenance conditions and carts with GPS. It has hosted the Argentina Open, and was chosen by The Masters, USGA and R&A to host the Latin America Amateur Championship in 2015.
The #10, par 5 of 587 yards, requires a precise tee shot. For the second shot you will face the signature 135 yards long bunker. You will need to fly it over on your way to the ellevated escenic green.
PILARA GOLF CLUB
"Signature" label of Nicklaus, means that Jack himself has been behind the design. This is the first of this standard in Southamerica and therefore a must play.
This is the first "Signature Design" built by Jack Nicklaus Design studio in South America, which implied a large personal commitment from Jack himself throughout the entire process; from the master plan, to the construction and its inauguration. Laying over 76 hectares of beautiful land, this course of modern design has been perfectly adapted to the original field, achieving the goal of being a demanding course for scratches, but very enjoyable for less experienced golfers. Its yardage goes form 5083 to 7126, counts with 76 bunkers and 8 of its holes are protected with water hazards. As shown in the pictures, the slopes on fairways and greeens determined its character.
The #9, par 4 of 412 yds, is a hole "with options" as Jack called it. Taking the right side you can shorten your way flying over the 4 bunkers, while taking the left side is easier but longer complication the approach to an elevated diagonal crossing green, protected with a deep short bunker.
CHAPELCO GOLF CLUB
Is one of the best 5 courses in the country, and the best in Patagonia. If you really care about the golf, then it's a MUST.
This stunning course is nestled amidst the impressive scenery of San Martín de los Andes, a few kilometers from the city centre. Chapelco Golf is the first 18-hole golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus and Jack Nicklaus II. Its lawn is fully integrated with the surrounding landscape. The club offers premium quality services including the clubhouse, snack-bar, pro-shop, golf carts and a great practice facility. The PGA Tour Latinoamerica hosts here every year the Neuquen Classic.
The 12th hole, par 4 of 427 yards, is a tough hole with a soft dogleg to the right. Apart from flying over the natural lake, your driver need to avoid the waste area on the right margin. From there you´ll need to land on a smooth but fast moving green. The panoramic view from the tee box is the trademark of the course.
